Comparisons between Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson are fitting as the two teams prepare to face off in a playoff game Saturday in AT&T Stadium.
Both quarterbacks were overlooked coming out of college in the NFL Draft. Both have also experienced uncommon success as starting quarterbacks in their first three NFL seasons.
“I’ve been able to be around Dak several times, and I just love his demeanor,” Wilson said of Prescott. “He’s a special, special player. He’s poised, competitive, can make all the throws, can run it, he’s just fun to watch.”
Wilson was selected 75th overall in the third round of the 2012 draft, but led Seattle to a 42-14 record to begin his pro career, including two Super Bowl appearances. While Prescott is hoping for his first career postseason win Saturday, he has still managed to lead Dallas to a 32-16 record in his first three seasons after he was taken 135th overall in the fourth round of the 2016 draft.
“I just really like how he leads and his approach to the game,” Wilson continued. “There is nothing he can’t do. He’s been a special player ever since he came into the National Football League.”
The Cowboys and Seahawks will kick off their Wild Card game Saturday at 7:15 p.m. in Arlington.
