Jamie Benn Gets a Maintenance Day

Stars captain Jamie Benn got the day off Tuesday after notching an assist in the Stars' loss to the Wild on Monday night

Dallas Stars coach Lindy Ruff says Jamie Benn’s maintenance day is just that, and no cause for concern on the part of fans.

Benn got the day after putting a lone shot on goal in the Minnesota Wild’s 5-3 win in Game 3, but Ruff wants to make it abundantly clear that Benn is fine physically.

"I just gave him a maintenance day, I thought it would be the best thing for him,” Ruff said, per Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News. "… The fans don't need to worry, there's nothing to worry about."

Benn had a goal in each of the first two games of the series and while he didn’t get any in the net on Monday night, he notched an assist to extend his points streak against the Wild to 11 games. He has 18 points over that span, and leads the series with five points (two goals, three assists).
