Rotation Altered Again With Rainout

The original plan heading into this week's big Texas-Houston series in Arlington was to have Cole Hamels throw the opening game of the season series. Now, that's going to change.

Derek Holland was slated to throw Sunday's series finale against Baltimore, but that game was bumped due to the soaking taking place across the Metroplex, and even the state.

Now, Holland will throw on Tuesday on six days of rest, meaning Hamels will pitch on five days rest on Wednesday. One option would've been to have Hamels stick with Tuesday and keep him on his regular four days of rest, which is what he prefers, but that would've meant pushing Holland to seven days or just skipping him altogether, which wouldn't be preferable given how well he pitched in his last outing.

Holland wasn't good against Houston last year in a few outings, including two in September.
