We learned after the Dallas Cowboys’ Divisional Round loss to the Green Bay Packers that Tony Romo had been playing with an injured left ring finger. According to Romo’s account, he suffered some ligament damage in the finger the week prior in the Wild Card Round victory over the Lions and apparently, the finger is still bothering him to some degree.

Romo told reporters at the NFL Honors show last Saturday that the finger was “coming along,” but per the Dallas Morning News, he was still in a splint on Thursday night when he took in an SMU basketball game with head coach Jason Garrett and running back DeMarco Murray.

Even if the season began tomorrow, we wouldn’t be too worried about the injury. In the aforementioned loss to the Packers, Romo went 15 of 19 passing for 191 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions for a passer rating of 143.6.
