Romo on Dez Bryant: “Tell Him to Come on Back”

Tony Romo isn't shy in acknowledging that Dez Bryant is missed in OTAs

The Dallas Cowboys haven’t been shy in acknowledging that they’ve missed Dez Bryant in practice throughout the offseason.

Bryant has done some strength and conditioning work at Valley Ranch this offseason but has stayed away from the field as he hopes to get his long-term contract. He was given the franchise tender this offseason but hasn’t signed it yet.

"He has been in and out at different times. Obviously, he's working on the business part of his contract, working through this franchise player tag," Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said, per FOX Sports Southwest. "We've been in communication with him. He's been in communication with his teammates. He seems to be in great shape whenever we've seen him."

Last week, veteran tight end Jason Witten credited Bryant with setting the tone in practice and this week, quarterback Tony Romo took his turn to briefly addressed Bryant’s conspicuous absence.

"Obviously, when you have him it makes things a little bit easier," Romo said. "Tell him to come on back."
