Romo Defends Bryant: “We're Lucky To Have Him”

Some folks seem to be put off by Dez Bryant’s occasional emotional outbursts--which can be seen on the Cowboys’ sidelines from time to time--but none of them are members of the Dallas Cowboys. Head coach Jason Garrett has said he’s fine with the emotion Bryant brings to the field (and sideline), a sentiment that was echoed recently by quarterback Tony Romo, who said that Bryant is emotional, but never negative.

"Dez is great,'' Romo said, per the Dallas Morning News. "His emotion, there is never a negative emotion that comes from it. It's just positive consistently.

"He's just a kid who loves playing the game. He's passionate. But there is never any malice or anything negative involved. Cameras can catch whatever they want, he is never mean to another person or anything like that. He just wants to win and he's excited about being out there playing.

"We're lucky to have him.''

Some have compared Bryant to another receiver who could be seen yelling about this or that on the sidelines in the past, one Terrell Owens. Without saying as much, Romo continued that Bryant is no T.O.

"Dez has done nothing that takes away from anything,'' Romo said. "Dez does a great job. Always upbeat, positive.

"We're lucky to have him, like I said.''
