Rolando McClain, Jeremy Mincey Cleared to Return

McClain and Mincey spent the week dealing with head injuries

The Dallas Cowboys got a pair of important defensive pieces back on Friday, when linebacker Rolando McClain and defensive end Jeremy Mincey were cleared to return to action.

McClain, who spent the week dealing with an injured neck as well as concussion-like symptoms, was forced to exit last Sunday’s 24-20 win over the Lions in the second quarter. Mincey was able to finish the game, but came away afterward with a head injury of his own.

Now, it appears both will be available for Sunday’s divisional round matchup with the Packers.

I would say that that’s good, but mainly from the standpoint of that’s an indicator of their status,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told 105.3-FM The Fan on Friday, via the Dallas Morning News. “That’s the most important thing. I sometimes think Rolando can step out there, just call his number up anytime, any day, any time of the year. We know that’s wrong. Every athlete benefits from repetition.

“Mincey has been a stalwart for us and has really established himself as that, as a leader on the field both physically and energy-wise, so we need him on the field. That’s what that is.”
