Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain was back at Valley Ranch on Tuesday for this week’s three-day, mandatory mini-camp, after spending the last three weeks back home in Alabama rehabbing his knee.

McClain underwent arthroscopic knee surgery this offseason, and will continue to be limited this week as a result.

“Don’t want to make any projections, but certainly he’s made a lot of progress and we feel good about where he is,” head coach Jason Garrett said, per the Dallas Morning News.

McClain, who will start at middle linebacker for the Cowboys again this year as Sean Lee moves over to the weak side, participated in the morning walk-through on Tuesday, but Garrett indicated that that would be about all he does. At the end of the mini-camp on Thursday, the Cowboys’ veterans will get their last break before reconvening late next month for training camp.

Last year, his first with the Cowboys, McClain posted 81 tackles, a sack and two interceptions in 13 games.
