Ricardo Lockette Did a Cool Thing on His Way Out of DFW

A week ago Thursday, Seattle Seahawks return man Ricardo Lockette was leaving the Dallas hospital where he had undergone neck surgery.

This was four days after the Seahawks’ 13-12 victory over the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium, in which Lockette took a hit from Cowboys safety Jeff Heath on a first half kick off that led to a very scary moment and, ultimately, Lockette being carted off and taken to the hospital.

Upon his release, Lockette was set to head back to the Pacific Northwest, but he saw a chance and took the time to do a good deed before he went. According to TMZ, Lockette noticed a group of homeless people somewhere near the hospital as he and his family left, instructed the driver to pull into a McDonald’s, then returned with 100 cheeseburgers.

“He had a neck brace on while he was passing out the burgers,” Ricardo’s father Earl Lockette told TMZ. “So some people were like, 'What happened to you?' But Ricardo didn't try and bring attention to who he was. Some people knew who he was. But this was more about Ricardo seeing people who were in worse shape than him, and wanting to help them however he could.”
