Dallas Cowboys tight end Gavin Escobar’s 2015 season came to an end when he tore his achilles in Week 15, an injury that left him to spend his offseason on a long road to recovery.
But Escobar will be helped along that road by teammates like safety Barry Church and defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford, each of whom has gone through the same injury and recovery process Escobar is dealing with now. Church tore his achilles in 2012, Crawford in training camp before the 2013 season, but both made full recoveries as evidenced by the starting jobs they have now.
“They’ve been real helpful just telling me their progress, how they recovered and it just takes time—just to stay positive and everything,” Escobar told the team’s official website.
Escobar is entering the final year of his rookie contract and, while he has never recorded more than nine catches in a season, he has seven career touchdown catches.
