Report: Peterson Agent Has Dust Up With Vikes

As my colleague Richie Whitt pointed out on Monday, the likelihood of the Dallas Cowboys actually landing Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson via trade isn't that great, and if the Vikings cut him loose he's going to hit the open market seeking a fortune.

But in case you were looking for any more reason to speculate that the door could be opening for Peterson's return home to the Lone Star State, here you go.

A juicy report surfaced on Monday that Peterson's agent, Ben Dogra, got into a "heated exchange" with Minnesota vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski at the NFL combine in Indianapolis and the two had to separated.

While the Vikings have said publicly they want Peterson back, and Peterson has said he loves the Vikings fanbase and has great memories from his time there, he's also done everything but say he doesn't trust the Vikings organization after the way they handled his suspension for all but one game of the 2014 season and his failed reinstatement to the league.

"You know how it is in the NFL," Peterson told ESPN. "I learned a lot through this process. I'm still uneasy, to be honest with you. I'm still uneasy about a lot of things that took place within the organization. Of course those guys ultimately supported me, and I'm grateful for that. But ultimately, with me being able to be on the inside and see how cards were dealt, how things were worded, this, that and the other, it's about protecting your brand, your organization, what you have built."

So while it might be a pipe dream for Cowboys fans who are in love with Peterson's track record on the field and his huge numbers, it seems to be at least a little more likely now.
