Report: ‘No Progress' Made in Cowboys' Meeting with Dez's Agent

The Dallas Cowboys and Dez Bryant might not be getting closer to a long-term deal after all.

The news involving Bryant last week was encouraging to outsiders, because it was news. All that happened was Bryant’s agent Tom Condon met with the Cowboys last weekend, but that was the first such meeting in four months, so it seemed like kind of a big deal.

But according to BleacherReport NFL Insider Jason Cole, no progress was made during that visit for a few, interconnected reasons. A) The Cowboys don’t believe Bryant is actually willing to sit out regular season games; B) They believe Bryant needs the money; C) They were encouraged by Bryant showing up at times to offseason workouts and minicamp--which really goes back to point A.

So considering all that, according to the report, the Cowboys are standing firm by their current offer and comfortable with the franchise tag on the table, and the impasse continues.
