Report: Henry Melton Visiting Bucs

Melton spent last season with Dallas and recorded five sacks

The Dallas Cowboys are ready to let Henry Melton leave, having declined his option earlier this week, and it may set up a reunion between Melton and Lovie Smith.

Smith now coaches the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Melton is visiting the team this week, Jenna Laine of SportsTalkFlorida.com reports. His departure from Dallas will separate him from his longtime defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli.

A six-year NFL veteran and a University of Texas product, Melton appeared in all 16 games for Dallas last year but only started three. He finished with 15 tackles, five sacks and four passes defensed.

Melton will turn 29 next season.
