Report: Doctors Leaning Toward Surgery For Jenkins

Kyle Kosier's torn MCL on the other hand will likely heal on its own

Last week, Mike Jenkins hoped aloud that he wouldn’t have to undergo surgery on the shoulder he dislocated in the first meeting with the Giants, and aggravated in the second. But according to ESPN Dallas, it looks as though he won’t get his wish, that team doctors are leaning toward the idea that Jenkins’ oft-hurt shoulder will need surgery after all.

In more sunny injury news, it looks like right guard Kyle Kosier--part of the Cowboys’ underwhelming interior line in 2011--will not need surgery, but only rest, to recover from a torn MCL suffered in the season finale.

Kosier suffered the injury in the third quarter of the season-ending loss. He suffered the injury in the third quarter and said that, even knowing he had torn his left MCL--this knowledge comes from experience, as Kosier said after that he’s suffered the same injury on his right knee--he tried to play through it.

One of a pair of veterans on the Dallas line along with Montrae Holland, Kosier was moved from the left to the right side this preseason in order to help out with rookie right tackle Tyron Smith.
