Report: Dez Bryant Working Out at Valley Ranch

Bryant still isn't participating in any on-field work

Dez Bryant still has no intention of getting on the field for the Cowboys’ offseason program, but he will be around.

According to Mickey Spagnola of, Bryant showed up at Valley Ranch last Thursday to do his strength and conditioning work, and he apparently intends to make a habit of it.

Granted, Bryant won’t do any on-field work with the team. But working out at team headquarters, he will be around his teammates, and that certainly helped motivate the All-Pro to return.

“I wanted to be here for my teammates,” Bryant said.

Bryant, of course, has not signed the franchise tender offered by the Cowboys. If the two sides can’t come to an agreement on a long-term deal by July 15, Bryant would play the 2015 season for the $12.83 million tender. It would also likely mean that Bryant won’t get on the field until late July.

Understandably, Bryant is standing firm where the negotiation process is concerned. But as his (albeit limited) return to Valley Ranch makes clear, he wants to be back with his teammates.

“In the past two years that locker room has changed,” Bryant said. “There is something special in there.”
