Report: Cowboys Still Interested in S Dashon Goldson

The Cowboys' interest in Goldson was first reported several weeks ago

The Dallas Cowboys have had a hard time acquiring secondary pieces in free agency this offseason, but they haven’t given up on their pursuit of safety Dashon Goldson.

According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, the Cowboys remain interested in the former All-Pro, and the Redskins—the team with which Goldson spent the 2015 season—are still open to bringing him back. The Cowboys' initial interest in Goldson was reported a few weeks ago.

It’s not that the Cowboys haven’t tried to address the secondary in free agency this offseason. Thus far, they’ve pursued three cornerbacks, in Leon Hall, Nolan Carroll and Patrick Robinson, and struck out on all three.

Meanwhile, Goldson is entering his 10th NFL season. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2011 and 2012 while with the 49ers, but hasn’t been back since. He moved on to the Buccaneers in 2013, where he stayed for a couple seasons before landing with Washington last year.
