The Cowboys have finally landed their veteran safety, which seemed to be their chief goal in free agency after they released Gerald Sensabaugh in a cost-cutting move just before the free agency period begun.
According to a report in the Dallas Morning News, Dallas has agreed to bring Will Allen into the fold--though, like in the case of their only other free agent signing of the offseason, linebacker Justin Durant, Allen will have to wait for the team to make room for him under the salary cap before making it official.
Allen spent the last three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and saw a good deal of starting time in 2012 after Troy Polamalu got hurt. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2004 draft (111th overall) by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
