Report: Cowboys Acquire LB Rolando McClain

McClain sat out the 2013 season after abruptly retiring

Scrambling for solutions in the wake of the announcement that Sean Lee would be placed on injured reserve, the Dallas Cowboys have acquired the recently retired linebacker Rolando McClain from the Baltimore Ravens, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

A first round pick of the Oakland Raiders back in 2010, the Alabama product McClain posted 246 tackles and 6.5 sacks over three seasons with the team--leading Raiders in tackles in 2011. Off-the-field issues helped expedite his departure from Oakland, however, and he was let go following the 2012 season and picked up by the Ravens.

McClain then announced his retirement and sat out all of last season.

According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, McClain has told his agent, Pat Dye, that he’s "fully committed to playing football."

Details of the deal have not yet been announced.
