Rejoice! MLB Announces In-Market Streaming Agreement

So, you're sitting at your 3-year-old kid's "soccer" game or at a dance recital, or worse yet, you're being dragged around Kohl's and TJ Maxx by your wife, and you're missing the Rangers game. Tough luck, huh?

Well, now you're in luck because the MLB big-wigs decided on Friday at the owner's meetings in Dallas that we will be able to stream games locally beginning in 2016 with the only requirement being a valid login for cable proving you have Fox Sports Southwest, which carries Rangers games.

Previously, you could only stream MLB games with the Extra Innings package, and that was subject to blackout restrictions, so I could watch all the Angels and Mariners games I wanted, but no dice on the Rangers unless I was in Seattle or somewhere else really far away.

"The media landscape is changing rapidly," commissioner Rob Manfred told reporters. "It's important for us to make sure that our content is available on as many platforms as possible in ways that our fans want to enjoy games. This is a huge step forward."

Man, no kidding. What a day!
