Rangers Surviving Off Road Record

We're not going as far as to say the Texas Rangers will be in the playoff chase come September, but we can safely say the Rangers aren't out of it yet, either.

The AL West, other than the first-place Houston Astros, is bad and could have a shot at the Wild Card spot, or the division if the Astros prove to be a fluke. The Rangers are staying in the hunt because of their recent strong play and the fact that they are winning on the road, because they certainly aren't winning on their home turf.

The Rangers are above .500 (10-9) on the road — the only team in the division other than Houston with a winning road record, but the team is just 6-13 at home — the only West team other than last-place Oakland to have a losing record at home.

The good news? The Rangers don't have a month with more home games than road games until July, so they get to hopefully build on that road record while waiting for some reinforcements to come and hopefully take advantage of increasing temperatures and a rejuvenated offense in Arlington come July.

Home is supposed to be sweet, but for the Rangers this year, it's been a nightmare.
