Rangers Send Top Prospects to Minor-League Camp

While attending spring training in Arizona last week with my family, it was pretty obvious who the stars of the show in Surprise were, and it wasn't guys like Adrian Beltre and Prince Fielder.

The most anticipation came in the middle of games when starters were lifted for the likes of Joey Gallo, Jurickson Profar and Nomar Mazara.

If you're going to Surprise this week, you'll have to hit the back fields early in the morning to see those guys because on Monday the Rangers sent them all to minor league camp, along with Lewis Brinson, Drew Robinson and Ryan Cordell.

The moves were made to open more playing time for guys actually competing for spots on the Opening Day roster, and the Rangers have made it clear from the beginning their top prospects aren't in that discussion right now.

Now, all of those guys will head to Triple-A Round Rock and make for one really fun team to watch.
