Rangers Say Bye to Tepesch

Wednesday's arbitration deadline came and went, and while the Texas Rangers tendered an offer to backup catcher Chris Gimenez, they also said goodbye to a starting pitcher.

Nick Tepesch wasn't tendered an offer after missing the entire 2015 season after being shut down in the spring, and he will now immediately become a free agent.

It's a shame to see Tepesch not work out in Texas as he was probably thrust into the big-league picture far sooner than he was ready to be, and instead of working on his game in the minors, he was getting his skull bashed in by big-league hitters in 2013 and 2014.

He ends his Rangers tenure with a 9-17 record and a 4.56 ERA in 42 appearances and 39 starts over 219 innings of work.
