Rangers Need Good, Long Outing From Lewis

The Rangers could use the good version of Colby Lewis on Wednesday night in Toronto.

Lewis takes the hill on the heels of an extra-inning bullpen meltdown that also featured some base-running blunders and wasted chances by the Rangers' bats. It was an ugly loss following perhaps the best-played game of the year in a 2-1 win over the Blue Jays on Monday night.

The Rangers bullpen has been taxed heavily lately. While the rotation is riding a pretty remarkable streak of going at least five innings in each game this year, they haven't gotten past the sixth much — only three times to be exact.

One of those times was Lewis, and the Rangers could really use a similar outing on Wednesday night to give an overworked, struggling bullpen a breather.

History doesn't bode well for Lewis, as he's 2-3 with a 6.38 ERA in 24 career innings in the Rogers Centre. The Rangers, and their bullpen specifically, need him to break that trend on Wednesday night.
