Rangers Meet Old Nemesis in Donaldson

Josh Donaldson is the epitome of that player you love when he's on your favorite team but otherwise, you can't stand him.

The Rangers had to deal with Donaldson 19 times a year over the past couple of seasons when he was the starting third baseman for the Oakland A's, and a constant thorn in the Rangers' sides. He plays hard in the field, as evidenced by his ridiculous catch in the stands the other night, and he has a big, powerful bat that can change the game with one swing. Oh, and he's just smug and brash, making him a hated target for opposing fans.

The Rangers will have to deal with Donaldson this weekend as the Rangers head to Toronto, where Donaldson was unexpectedly traded this winter. Over the past 24 games he's played against the Rangers, Donaldson is batting .337 with five homers, nine doubles and 14 RBIs. With that said, he's entering the series in a cold spell at the plate and is just 2-for-11 lifetime against Friday's starter Nick Martinez.

Something has to give this weekend. Either Donaldson's slump continues or he busts out of it and gets back to his Ranger-killing ways.
