Rangers Late Rally Falls Short

Texas falls in Minnesota.

The Texas Rangers rallied in the ninth inning, but fell short, losing to the Minnesota Twins 3-2 Friday night.

Texas got within one of the Twins and had two runners on base when Chris Davis took a called third strike from Twins relief pitcher Joe Nathan. Replays of the pitch showed the location to be outside of the strike zone, but there's no crying in baseball.

Rangers hitters were man-handled much of the night by rookie pitcher Brian Duensing who struck out eight in seven innings.

Texas starter Tommy Hunter had a solid outing giving up three runs in seven innings.
