Randy Gregory Learning at Sean Lee's Side

The rookie defensive end and the veteran linebacker are locker room neighbors

When the Dallas Cowboys drafted Randy Gregory in the second round, there was a lot of talk about how the team would need to put a support system in place for the Nebraska star, whose draft stock tumbled after he failed a drug test at the combine. The Cowboys were well aware of the fact when they made the pick.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones remarked that in considering the pick, the team felt they had the infrastructure in place to make the relationship work and former players like Michael Irvin and Charles Haley were quick to offer their services as mentors to Gregory.

Almost a month later, whether it was a coincidence or not--and we’d guess not--Gregory is getting to know defensive captain Sean Lee well, as they’re locker room neighbors. He’s quite literally learning at Lee’s side.

He knows what he’s talking about, that’s for sure,” Gregory told the team’s website. “His locker’s right next to mine practically, so we do a lot of talking. He’s a great leader for us.”
