Last month, 24-year-old goalie David Leggio was incredible: 8-0-0 and a 1.50 GAA for the Florida Everblades, earning him no less an honor than the RBC Financial Group ECHL Saver of the Month for January.
February, unfortunately, hasn't exactly been as kind to the dude. He was pulled for the second time in a week last Saturday against the South Carolina Stingrays. He wasn't pleased; check out his screaming tantrum on the bench, one that includes Leggio slamming his head against the glass partition at the 1:17 mark (look closely). Can't say we've ever seen that level of self-torment from a benched goalie before. (Note: There's no sound, which gives you a chance to dub in your own tirade and musical accompaniment. We suggest Psycho Sid's theme from the WWF days.)
A little context from Puck Daddy reader Joe, who provided the video:
After getting to the bench, Leggio proceeds to go after his head coach, Malcolm Cameron. He's restrained by players and staff before reaching Cameron, though. While filming his tantrum, the Stingrays immediately score on Leggio's replacement, Anton Khudobin, who allowed 3 goals on 4 shots before Leggio was reinserted.
Well that was a little disturbing. Consider this center-ice goalie fight (at the 43-second mark) between the U-16 AAA Midget Dallas Stars and PF Changs (seriously?) as your palette cleanser:
