Prince Gives Glimpse Of Future

It didn't take Prince Fielder long to show Texas Rangers fans what their new first baseman can do in Globe Life Park. Four pitches into his Rangers tenure at his home park, and on his first swing ever as a Rangers in Globe Life Park, the big man lifted a homer into the Rangers' bullpen.

One big, herky-jerky, bull-in-a-china-shop Prince Fielder swing. That's all it took to give Rangers fans of glimpse of what could be coming in the 2014 season, which begins Monday at Globe Life Park against Cliff Lee and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Fielder had four career homers in Arlington in two years as an American Leaguer, and hit his fifth on Thursday night against Quintana Roo in an exhibition. If all goes as planned, he'll hit many more now as a member of the Rangers as he looks to bounce back from a "disappointing" season in 2013 when he only hit 25 homers and drove in 106 RBIs in his final season in Detroit before being brought to Texas via trade in November.
