Potential Targets: Jose Bautista

Target: Jose Bautista, OF, TOR

2013 stats: 118 games, .259 batting average, .358 on-base percentage, 24 doubles, 28 home runs, 73 RBIs.

The power-hitting outfielder is signed through 2015 with a team option for the 2016 season, so he's controllable for a few years and just turned 33 a month ago. Here's a guy that led baseball in home runs in 2010 and 2011 before suffering a couple of injury-plagued years in 2012 and 2013, but has still put up productive numbers.

He'd be a great addition in left field, and could move to right field in 2015 if Alex Rios ends up elsewhere. It's far from ideal, but he could also play third base if anything happened to the injury-prone (albeit trooper) Adrian Beltre.

He's not real cheap, as he would cost $14 million a year for the next two seasons and for the 2016 season if the team picks up his option, but he's a proven, productive hitter who has always seemed to be well-liked around baseball and would surely fit in nicely.

The Rangers could get Bautista for one of their middle infielders, a prospect and probably a big-league arm such as Alexi Ogando or Robbie Ross.
