Potential Target: Shane Victorino

In an ongoing series, we'll take a look at possible free-agent and trade targets for the Texas Rangers this winter.

Potential Target: Shane Victorino, OF

2015 stats: .230 batting average, .308 on-base percentage, .601 OPS, 4 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, 7 RBIs, 7 stolen bases in 71 games split between Boston and Anaheim

A report in the Maui News said this week that the Rangers might be nearing a minor-league deal with Victorino, who is known as the "Flyin' Hawaiian". The two-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glove outfielder could provide some much needed depth in the outfield for the Rangers, specifically if it's on a low-risk minor-league deal with an invite to spring training.

This isn't someone you want playing 100 games for you, but to have a veteran guy in the clubhouse that teammates seem to love (ask Cole Hamels) but opponents seem to hate definitely couldn't be a bad thing.

He just turned 35 but he's only a few years removed from a very productive season with Boston in 2013.
