Potential Target: Mario Williams

In an ongoing thread of posts, we'll discuss potential free agent targets for the Dallas Cowboys coming off a 4-12 season, thanks in large part to several key injuries.

Target: Mario Williams, DE

2015 stats: 19 tackles, 5 sacks in 15 games

Williams was the first overall pick by the Houston Texans in 2006 and has put together a pretty solid career, even if it might be seen as a bust as the top pick in the draft.

He's coming off a poor season in Buffalo in the first year under Rex Ryan after he totaled 38 sacks over the previous three seasons with the Bills before Ryan's arrival. He also had two seasons of double-digit sacks with the Texans (2007-2008) and could provide the Cowboys some much-needed punch in their pass rush.

Williams is now 31 years old and Rod Marinelli could be just what the veteran needs to find his dominant self again.
