Potential Target: Dillon Gee

In an ongoing series, we'll take a look at possible free-agent and trade targets for the Texas Rangers this winter.

Target: Dillon Gee, RHP

2014 stats: 7-8, 4.00 ERA, 94 strikeouts, 43 walks, 137 1/3 innings pitched

Gee isn't a huge, sexy name, but he's a decent, trusted starter and is controllable for a few more seasons, making him an attractive trade target. He's a Cleburne native who played his college ball at UT-Arlington, so he's familiar with the area and would be comfortable transitioning to Arlington.

He's been a solid No. 3 or No. 4 starter for most of his career with the Mets, which is the type of guy the Rangers are really looking for, and the Mets are looking for a shortstop. Of course, we know the Rangers have plenty to offer there.
