Rex Ryan is never one to shy away from cameras and attention. For evidence, look no further than this summer when the Jets and their boisterous head coach were featured on HBO's "Hard Knocks", which detailed, among other things, Ryan's affinity for snacks.
There's the example earlier this season when he hilariously dressed up as his twin brother, Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, for a press conference the week the two brothers were going to meet on the field.
Last week, Rex Ryan made a point to say how much he badly wanted to beat Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, something not many coaches would do.
Now, he's at it again, and this time against the NFL coaching version of the Emperor from Star Wars, Bill Belichick.
Belichick, the three-time Super Bowl winner for the Patriots, is as brooding and calculating as they come, and rarely even smiles. He probably didn't even crack a smile when Rex stuffed a huge pillow in his shirt and wore a ridiculous wig with Browns gear while impersonating his brother. I did. It was funny.
Now, Rex Ryan is making Sunday's game against Belichick personal.
This is going to be about me raising my level against Bill Belichick. I recognize he’s the best and all that, but I’m just trying to be the best on Sunday. I plan on being the best coach on Sunday.”
Entering the season, based partly on the publicity from "Hard Knocks" which seems to make people think whichever team it features is a Super Bowl contender, the Jets were supposed to be the favorites out of the top-heavy AFC East.

Ryan even went as far this past week as to say that no quarterback in the NFL studies as much as Manning, not even New England QB Tom Brady, who "receives more help from his coach than Brady."
That's one guy you don't want to upset, especially after what he did in the teams' last meeting back on Dec. 6 in Foxboro, Mass., when Brady went 21-of-29 for 326 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-3 hammering of the Jets.
