Whether good or bad, you have to think Jerry Jones loves the fact people are talking about his team.

And for seemingly the last couple of decades, America's Team has also been America's most hated team, most notably because of the very public owner who likes to moonlight as a general manager.

But for the first time in a good while, that isn't the case anymore.

Cowtown Marathon Preparing for Biggest Turnout in 5 Years

There's a new sheriff in town, and it's Tom Brady, Bill Belichick & Co.

According to a national poll conducted by Public Policy Polling, the Cowboys have left the forefront of the public's hatred, and here's what they had to say about it:

“Every time we’ve done a poll over the years on the most hated team in the NFL the Cowboys have won out. But this year there’s a new sheriff in town — 23% of fans say the Patriots are their least favorite team with the Cowboys dropping to second at 20% and no one else in double digits.”

The Patriots, of course, have Brady, who everyone hates. Same goes with Belichick. There's SpyGate, DeflateGate, and who knows what other kind of Gates? Oh, and they've also won — a lot. That's something the Cowboys haven't done much of lately, and that's likely a big factor in the public heat being off the Cowboys a little bit. But again, does Jerry like that? I'd guess not.
