On Deck: Super Bowl XLIX

On Deck will be here all season to provide you with everything you need to know (and a few things you don't) about every postseason game during the 2014 season.

The Teams: With this whole two-week layoff, it's hard to remember what happened in the conference championship games, except for this year, of course. That's because the Seattle Seahawks had a comeback for the ages to edge the Green Bay Packers in overtime and the New England Patriots ran wild and throttled the Indianapolis Colts before the #DeflateGate controversy was set off the next day and hasn't died since. Both teams are healthy despite some scary injuries to the Seahawks' secondary, so we should be in for a classic.

Past Meetings: The teams are an evenly split 8-8 in their series history. The last meeting came in 2012 as the Seahawks were just on the brink of their current greatness, and Seattle beat Tom Brady & Co. in a thriller, 24-23.

Who's Hot: Marshawn Lynch has been rumored to be hanging it up after this season, and with a guy like that, nothing would likely surprise you. But he's still got plenty of game left in him, and in the Seahawks' win over the Packers, he took over in the second half to finish with 157 yards and a touchdown. Receiver Doug Baldwin, the Seahawks' No. 1 receiver, by default, had 106 yards on six catches.

LeGarrette Blount, in a matter of weeks, has gone from being exiled in Pittsburgh to being the star runner for the AFC champions. In their blowout of the Colts, Blount rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns, doing his own version of #BeastMode. Tom Brady, throwing his deflated balls, had 226 yards passing yards and three touchdowns to go with his one interception.

Who's Not: Russell Wilson was arguably the worst quarterback in championship game history until the final six or seven minutes. He finished with four picks, but ended up throwing for 209 yards and the game-winning touchdown in overtime to Jermaine Kearse. Wilson also rushed for a touchdown.

I mean, what can you say here about the Patriots? I guess their locker room attendant who took a bathroom break could be on the hot seat.
