The Opponent: The Redskins fell apart a long time ago. Last week, they made the decision to bench starting quarterback Robert Griffin III, mainly for his own safety and against his wishes. They're 3-11 on the season and might be playing for the first pick in the draft. Except, well, they won't get that pick since the Rams own the right to it for the RG3 pre-draft trade last year. What a mess. Head coach Mike Shanahan's job is on the line, and he might be firing his son and offensive coordinator beforehand.
Key Matchup: WAS WR Pierre Garcon vs. DAL CB Brandon Carr: Carr has been awful, as has the entire Dallas secondary, and Garcon is in line for a huge game. He's a guy that's great in open space once he gets the ball, and that's a bad recipe for the Dallas secondary this season. Carr has to step up and try to keep Garcon under wraps.
What's Hot: DeMarco Murray has been on fire as of late, still. He's coming off two straight 100-yard games and for whatever reason was abandoned in the later parts of Sunday's catastrophic loss to Green Bay. The Redskins are bad at everything, including stopping the run, so Murray should be in line for another big game. We'll see if he is.
Garcon had a big game for the Redskins in last week's one-point loss to Atlanta with Kirk Cousins throwing him the ball and going for nearly 400 passing yards and three touchdowns.
What's Not: The Cowboys' defense has been atrocious, yes. But the coaching staff shares just as much blame for Sunday's loss after Jason Garrett failed to properly close out the game and run the clock by, for whatever reason, abandoning the running game. Even Packers players were questioning Dallas' playcalling after the game was over and seemed shocked the Cowboys weren't running the ball more.
Just about everything for the Redskins is in a bad way. Except for running back Alfred Morris and Garcon, it's a pretty ugly bunch.
