Odor Wins AL Player of Week Award

Rougned Odor continues to give the Rangers hope for what is shaping up to be a bright future for their young second baseman.

Odor, who has seemingly lapped Jurickson Profar as the Rangers' middle infield prospect du jour, has been on fire since returning from a demotion to Triple-A after a horrible first month of the season. In a little more than a month back in the bigs, Odor is a vastly different player and has been one of the best hitters in baseball during that time.

On Monday, he picked up his first AL Player of the Week honor after a monster week that saw him hit .385 with three doubles, a triple and three homers to go with eight RBIs and nine runs scored over a six-game span.

The hot streak has lasted more than just the past week. In fact, he put together a road trip for the ages on the team's most recent trip when he batted .400 with 11 runs scored to go with three doubles, three triples and four homers. He drove in 10 runs in those nine games and almost hit for the cycle a couple of times.
