Odor Battling Oblique Strain

Muscle strains can linger, especially in baseball, it seems.

So when Rougned Odor reported some discomfort in his right oblique area on Tuesday, the Rangers and skipper Jeff Banister made an easy call.

Despite his best attempt at convincing them otherwise, the Rangers scratched Odor from their lineup on Tuesday and he stayed behind in Surprise to receive treatment on his oblique.

"No sense of pushing him," Banister told reporters.

He's definitely right there. As we know from those troublesome Nelson Cruz quads and hamstrings, muscle strains can be awfully problematic, especially if you let them fester without treatment. Who knows when Odor will play again, and frankly, there should be no rush to get him back out there.
