“No Regrets” for DeMarco Murray, Cowboys

Last year, in DeMarco Murray’s final season with the Dallas Cowboys, he went for a franchise record 1,845 yards while running behind that vaunted young offensive line. Through seven games with the Eagles this year, Murray is out of sight of that pace, and has 307 yards on 88 carries.

But last year’s Offensive Player of the Year has no regrets about leaving Dallas for Philadelphia in free agency back in March.

"There are no regrets on my part," Murray said, per the Dallas Morning News. "There is none on their part. I respect those guys. Great organization. I spent a lot of time there, but I'm here now."

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones had similar thoughts on the situation.

"That ship sailed," Jones said. "We don't look back at the past. We'd make that decision over again, the same decision we'd make it again. We have to develop and structure a football team with the salary cap. It just wasn't one where we felt it was in our best interest to have that type of money tied up. ... You got to make hard decisions. Unfortunately, that was a tough one for us. We've moved on from that."
