NFC East Watch: RG3 Shrugs Off Marcus Mariota Talk

It's widely believed that the Redskins will grab Marcus Mariota if he's still there at No. 5

Washington Redskins general manager Scot McLoughan is on record as saying the team will select the best player available when they go one the board with the fifth overall pick on April 30. That means, as McLoughan has said himself, that if Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota falls to them--and they believe he’s their best option at No. 5--they’ll take him.

But Robert Griffin III isn’t worried about the prospect of the reigning Heisman Trophy winner coming to town.

In fact, in a recent interview with FOX News’ Chris Wallace, Griffin pretty much shrugged the idea off.

“C’mon man,” Griffin said, via Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post. “The way I look at it is as long as I’m here with the Washington Redskins and they say I’m the guy, then I’m the guy. I’m ready to go.”
