Kai Forbath, who once upon a time was in the running with Dan Bailey for the Dallas Cowboys’ place kicking job, has re-signed with the Washington Redskins.

Forbath was the only player to receive a restricted free agent tender from the team. He signed that tender offer on Wednesday and announced the news via an Instagram post with the caption:  “Contract signed!! Officially putting on the Burgundy & Gold for another year!”

A UCLA product, Forbath came into the league with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He spent the 2011 season on the reserve/non-football injury list with quadriceps issues and was released in April of 2012. By that time, Bailey had locked up the kicking job, having gone 32 of 37 on field goals in his rookie season.

After spending the 2012 preseason with the Buccaneers, Forbath moved on to Washington in October of that year, and he’s been there ever since. In his career with the Redskins, Forbath has made 59 of 67 field goal attempts.
