It’s no surprise that the New York Giants want to meet with Jason Pierre-Paul, following the July 4 fireworks accident that injured his hand severely enough to put him in the hospital for at least a few days.
What is somewhat surprising is that as of Tuesday afternoon, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Giants were still waiting to have that meeting--this after arriving in South Florida on Monday evening.
Obviously, figuring out what the injury entails, exactly, is huge for the Giants at this point. Reports since the accident occurred have been mixed, but among the latest is that the Giants fear that JPP could miss training camp and the beginning of the regular season.
To begin to decide how to handle the situation, the Giants need to figure out just how serious their two-time Pro Bowler defensive end’s injuries are--and that starts with a meeting that, for whatever reason, has yet to happen.
