NFC East Watch: Eagles Reportedly Sign Gore

Chip Kelly is making it abundantly clear he's now running the ship in Philadelphia known as the Eagles, and it all started last week when the Eagles made a shocking move by trading All-Pro running back LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills for a linebacker coming off a torn ACL who happens to be one his former players at Oregon.

There is also talk the Eagles will try to trade up in the draft to select Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariotta. While we won't know for a couple of months whether that happens, we know who the team is bringing in to replace McCoy, who's been one of the league's most all-around, dangerous backs in recent years.

The Eagles have reportedly agreed to a three-year deal with veteran running back Frank Gore, who spent the last 10 seasons in San Francisco and has been an ageless wonder in recent years, putting up 1,000-yard seasons in each of the last four years — and eight of the past nine seasons.

Gore began to finally show a visible decline last season, but still got to the 1,000-yard plateau. In the Eagles' offense, he could actually thrive in an environment that features less of a power running game and more of a quick-hitting attack.
