After the Philadelphia Eagles released receiver DeSean Jackson last week, we hoped it might mean the end of the Dallas Cowboys having to deal with the guy twice a year. That might not be the case.
According to 97.5-FM The Fanatic’s Tim McManus, via ProFootballTalk.com, Jackson visited the Washington Redskins on Monday and will stay through Tuesday. The two are talking their way toward an agreement and, once again according to McManus--citing unnamed sources--it’s a “done deal.”
Jackson spent six seasons with the Eagles, putting up 356 catches, 6,117 yards and 32 touchdowns. In 2013 alone, he had 82 catches for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns--all career highs.
According to the report, Jackson wants $9-10 million a year, and the Redskins certainly aren’t averse to paying veterans big money on the free agent market. As you may remember, they signed former Cowboys' defensive tackle Jason Hatcher to a four-year, $27.5 million deal last month.
