Newest Ranger Killer Coming to Town

Nelson Cruz did a lot to help the Texas Rangers, most notably win MVP honors of the 2011 ALCS when he almost single-handily won the series over the Tigers with an unreal series that included six homers in six games.

Since leaving following the 2013 season, he's also done a lot to hurt them.

But nothing is like what he's doing this year with his second new team in as many seasons, as he's owning the Rangers on a regular basis with the Seattle Mariners, who happen to face the Rangers 19 times this year.

Cruz has already played nine games against the Rangers this year, and he comes to town for three more games beginning Monday night. In his nine games so far, Cruz is batting an outrageous .459/.500/1.473 triple slash line. In those nine games, he has two doubles, a triple and five home runs with nine RBIs.

Of all Jon Daniels' transgressions as the Rangers' general manager, his greatest continues to be not bringing Cruz back following the 2013 season when his price fell to a bargain basement rate. Now, he's become the biggest thorn in his former club's side.
