New QB Kellen Moore Excited for Reunion with Scott Linehan

Moore worked with Linehan for two years with the Detroit Lions

New Cowboy Kellen Moore could have gone back to the practice squad of the Detroit Lions, the only NFL team he’s known, but ultimately decided he needed a change of scenery.

It didn’t hurt that the change would also bring on a reunion between Moore and Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, who worked together for two years with the Lions.

I am excited to be here,” Moore said, per the Dallas Morning News. “Obviously, I worked with Scott for two years in Detroit so I am excited for that to happen again.”

In three seasons with the Lions, who signed him as an undrafted free agent after the 2012 draft, Moore never took a snap in a regular season game.

“I could have gone back to Detroit,” Moore said. “I felt like a little change might work... We’ll see what happens. The first priority is to understand how things are run here. The offense here is not going to be the same that we had in Detroit, when Scott was there. There are ways they do it here. First and foremost, learn that stuff and then kind of work from there.”
