Just a month after folks were wondering if DeMarco Murray could play in real, meaningful games after suffering a broken bone in his hand, Murray says he’s committed to playing in the ever-so-meaningless (for most fans, anyway) Pro Bowl.
“I love playing, so I’m not going to (sit out),” said Murray, who led the NFL in rushing and set a new franchise record with 1,845 yards in 2014, per Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas. “The hand’s alright so I’m excited to just go out there have fun and compete.”
As he did after suffering the injury in the Week 15 victory over the Eagles, Murray will wear a protective shell on the hand on Sunday.
“I’m not worried about (the possibility of getting hurt),” Murray said. “It’s not been a worry all year, so it’s not going to start now.”
Murray, who is a Captain on Team Irvin, added that he’d campaign to get his offensive linemen, LT Tyron Smith, C Travis Frederick and RG Zack Martin on his team.
“I definitely want to make sure they’re the top three picks,” he said.
