Running back DeMarco Murray thought he’d stay with the Dallas Cowboys throughout last season and all the way up until free agency got going in March. Not long after that, of course, he was a Philadelphia Eagle.
Murray discussed his mindset going into free agency in an appearance on ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike in the Morning on Thursday.
“... Throughout the entire season, including free agency and up until it started, I thought I would be a Cowboy,” Murray said, per the Dallas Morning News. “But obviously it didn’t happen and I’m fortunate and blessed enough to work something out with the Philadelphia Eagles and I’m happy with the decision I made.”
Even though Murray went to one of the Cowboys’ most hated rivals, there was no animosity between the sides as they parted ways.
“It was definitely a difficult process,” Murray said. “This is my first time ever experiencing free agency and really understanding the business aspect of the NFL and it’s a great business to be a part of and like I said, it was all business. There were no hard feelings, there was nothing personal from my side, and their side I believe. I think they made the best decision for their team and I made the best decision for my family.”
