The SMU Mustangs will open up their first practice of the season Thursday morning, in Dallas.
Coach Chad Morris is entering his second season with the SMU Mustangs and is looking to improve off a two win season in his rookie campaign on the Hilltop. Two wins may not seem like much but it is progress for a team that won just one game in 2014.
The Ponies should be a lot better this season as it returns a veteran squad for Coach Morris. SMU will have 9 starters returning on offense and 7 starters returning on defense.
The Mustangs will kick off their 2016 campaign September 3 at 6:00p.m. against North Texas in Denton. The Mustangs home opener is set for September 17 against Liberty, that will be a 6:00pm kickoff. Here is Morris on what it is like as he gets ready for his second season.
