Moreland, Choo Ease Injury Concerns

The Texas Rangers haven't seen anything like the rash of injuries that hit them in 2014, when it seemed guys were dropping like flies and there were more and more players you'd never heard of playing everyday roles for the team that had to battle to avoid 100 losses.

This year hasn't been anything like that, thankfully, but there have still been some pretty big injuries. On the pitching staff alone, the team lost Yu Darvish for the year and Derek Holland for months in the spring, and Adrian Beltre just returned from a month-long stay on the DL earlier this week.

It looked like there was a pretty good chance Mitch Moreland and Shin-Soo Choo were on track to join the injury train, which currently has Josh Hamilton and Delino DeShields currently rehabbing injuries and set to return soon.

On Thursday, both players eased concerns that they were possibly ready to hit the DL themselves, specifically Moreland.

The big lefty, who has been great this year when healthy, had a big game after a couple of rough ones. He went 3-for-4 with a homer and an RBI single. Choo went 1-for-4 with a walk, but Moreland was the really encouraging one to see. It had been hard for him to drive the ball with what was termed "general soreness" in his back and legs, but he looked like he had plenty of drive on Thursday and the Rangers really need that to continue moving forward.
